I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many volunteers and certificants who give their time to assist the Board by participating in our surveys or volunteering as a subject matter experts and item writers.  The Board has seen many volunteers from the Southeastern Chapter over the years and we know we are very fortunate to have so many knowledgeable and talented individuals who share in our commitment to the field of nuclear medicine. Thank you all for your time, expertise, and commitment to our field. I am also happy to welcome our two newest Directors, Lance Burrell, CNMT, PET and Jeremy Slicker, CNMT, NMTCB(RS) to the NMTCB Board of Directors.

Additionally, I am pleased to announce the successful delivery of the first radiation safety certification exam for nuclear medicine technologists. Sixty-eight technologists sat for the first exam on November 3rd, 2017. Fifty-five of those individuals (81%) passed the exam and now hold the NMTCB(RS) credential. The next administration of the NMTCB Radiation Safety exam is scheduled for August 17, 2018. The application deadline for the 2018 exam will be July 1, 2018. The examination assesses expertise in the areas of RAM license and CT safety issues, as well as competency regarding fluoroscopy, Xray, and MRI safety topics. Those interested in this credential should refer to the Radiation Safety Certification Exam page (https://www.nmtcb.org/specialty/radiation-safety-certification-exam.php) on the NMTCB website, or contact the NMTCB directly.

We are excited to share that NMTCB will once again be attending the 2018 Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA. Please visit us in the SNMMI Exhibit Hall at Booth #1061.  We hope to see you there!
