I am honored and humbled to serve as President-Elect of the Southeaster Chapter of the Society of Nuclear Medicine Molecular Imaging for the term 2017-2018, and be a part of an organization that not only gives knowledge back but also allows friendships to be created within the industry.  I am following in the footsteps of some great leaders.  The individuals who formed this chapter were motivated and persistent in pursuing a goal of success for the Southeastern Chapter.

The following years will be a challenge for the board as we start developing programs that reflect our industry and become beneficial to our membership.  The Southeastern Chapter will collaborate with the National Society of Nuclear Medicine Molecular Imaging in providing events that are consistent with certification requirements and member growth.

Several opportunities will be available throughout the year to meet for certification and education as well as networking with individuals within our industry.  I have been a part of the Southeastern Chapter for many years and networking personally has allowed several opportunities to come in my direction that otherwise would not have been recognized.  I will be working closely with President Dori Browning as we together and individually visit all our state organizations during this fiscal year.  We are interested in the concerns of each state.  What are your most pressing issues?  What are your needs from the Southeastern Chapter?

For our current members and perspective members I want to assure you that the intention of the board is to grow the Southeast Chapter without limits.  As you know, you only get out of membership in any organization what you put into it.  We hope you will regularly participate in our member activities.  In addition, we have a number of volunteer opportunities available, and I will always be happy to help you find something that meets your interest and serves your personal growth needs.  We will stay focused on remaining as a benefit to our members and stay current with Nuclear Medicine standards and requirements. I look forward to a productive successful year and invite each of you to participate, and most important become involved.
