Hillsborough Community College hosted its first research symposium in December where second year students presented findings of their research. The symposium was a culmination of their Advanced Topics and Research Methods Course. The event offered four CE credits for technologists and was free to attend. In March students will once again participate in a county wide mass casualty event. As part of this year’s event students will learn decontamination procedures and the role of the technologist in the event of a mass casualty event. Several students are also planning to present research at this year’s FNMT state meeting in May. The HCC NMT club is currently conducting fundraising to attend the SNNMI Annual meeting in June. The class of 2017 had an overall 100% pass rate with two students passing the NMTCB on the second attempt and all students passing the ARRT on the first attempt. The program currently has 15 senior students and 11 juniors.
